Gite with pool

Having access to a swimming pool on a French Gite holiday has changed from being a luxury feature, only available in luxury villas, to a necessity as holidaymakers have become accustomed to tourist hotels in hot countries always having at least one swimming pool and usually one swimming pool and then another kids and toddlers pool. Kids nowadays expect a swimming pool as standard wherever they go.

Staying at a French Gite or Holiday cottage with a swimming pool provides the kids with unlimited, cheap entertainment and gives adults the opportunity to cool off during hot summer holidays and keep fit or work off some of those extra holiday calories. Many Gites and Gite complexes have a shared swimming pool which, while better than no pool, can sometimes be overcrowded and noisy. This may be ok for the kids but is much less relaxing for adults. Renting a Gite with a private pool is for most holidaymakers the best option and is usually a lot cheaper than people think. It can sometimes be cheaper for a rural Gite with private pool than a Gite with no pool in a less rural area. Most holidaymakers visiting France usually prefer the rural gites and cottages anyway, as it gives more opportunity to see the real France.

This Gite, near Riscle and Nogaro in the Gers, has a private pool which is fenced off to conform to the French swimming pool safety laws. The swimming pool is 11.2m long and 5.2m wide, it has proper steps down to the shallow end which is only 80cm deep and goes to a maximum 1.8m. This is plenty big enough for swimming lengths, playing volleyball or just floating on a lilo reading a book.
